PERLUDEM hosts two-day forum on electoral reform outlook in Indonesia

The Association for Elections and Democracy (Perkumpulan Untuk Pemilu dan Demokrasi, PERLUDEM) hosted a two-day forum on the electoral reform outlook for Indonesia.

On 18-19 December 2024, PERLUDEM gathered leading experts, academics, and civil society organizations to critically examine Indonesia’s electoral system seeking to address key challenges and explore innovative alternatives to create a more effective and inclusive electoral framework.

Drawing on experiences from Indonesia and neighboring countries such as Malaysia, the Philippines, and Thailand, this collaborative platform sought to develop actionable recommendations for meaningful electoral reforms.

Asian Network for Free Elections (ANFREL) executive director Brizza Rosales, as well as leaders of ANFREL member in Malaysia, Oi Kok Hin from BERSIH and Ona Caritos from the Legal Network for Truthful Elections (LENTE), were among the speakers of the forum.
