NEOC releases public perception survey on electoral risk management in Nepal
The National Election Observation Committee (NEOC) released their public perception survey on electoral risks management in Nepal.
The two-month long survey was done from 1 June to 31 July 2019 using a questionnaire containing at least 40 questions to measure various risk factors that may have compromised electoral credibility in the past.
The identified potential areas of risks were delimitation of electoral constituencies, legal framework, voter registration, electoral education, political financing, compliance with code of conduct, campaign financing, electoral administration, electoral justice/dispute resolution, and external voting provisions.
NEOC said "early warning and early response methods are key to minigate electoral risks for which programmatic development through identification of priorities, using 'do no harm approach,' mainstreaming of marginalized through coherence of support is also essential."
