Mock Polls in Sri Lanka, 14 June 2020

The Asian Network for Free Elections (ANFREL) observed a mock polling station set up by the Election Commission (EC) of Sri Lanka at the Menerigama Primary School in Kalutara District on 14 June 2020. These are photos of what ANFREL observed about measures and precautions voters might expect on Election Day.

The EC is holding a series of mock polls to test health and safety measures amid the COVID-19 pandemic in the lead up to the Parliamentary Elections scheduled for 5 August 2020.

Polling staff handing the ballots to voters wore gloves and face masks.

Social distancing rules were in place. Voters also wore face masks for personal protection.

Clear plastic barriers were also set-up at the staff desk inside the polling station.
