IEC election of admin board, ‘crucial step’ to bring key electoral reforms within body — TEFA

According to article 14 of the amended election law, the Independent Election Commission of Afghanistan managed to successfully elect its administrative board to wit: Head, Deputy Head, and Secretary, as a result Mr. Awrangzeb has been elected as the Head of IEC, Mr. Mawlana Abdullah as the Deputy Head of IEC, and Mr. Musafer Qoqandi as IEC's Secretary.

Transparent Election Foundation of Afghanistan considers this undertaking entirely lawful and a concrete and crucial step and necessary for bringing about key electoral reforms within the Independent Election Commission of Afghanistan.

TEFA's leadership endorses these new elects and calls upon the newly form IEC's leadership - who are relatively more versed and experienced elections experts - to predicate their focus and to build their efforts around restoring public faith in elections and to inflect the belief of "elections as the only and single best means for legal and peaceful transfer of power" into various clusters and groups of our society.
