ANFREL Webinar Series: Observation Findings on the 2020 Myanmar General Elections (Pt. 2)

The Asian Network for Free Elections (ANFREL) is hosting a webinar on 21 December 2020, Monday at 4 p.m. (Yangon Time) about the findings of election observer groups in the recently concluded 2020 Myanmar General Elections.

This is part of a series of webinars which aims to create public awareness on democratic elections and create a public platform for civil society organizations to discuss election-related issues and concerns.

ANFREL invited Sai Ye Kyaw Swar Myint, executive director of the People's Alliance for Credible Election (PACE); Yu Ya Thu, executive director of Myanmar Independent Living Initiative (MILI); and Zin Mar Oo, executive director of Myanmar Network Organization for Free and Fair Elections (MYNFREL) as speakers. Aung Naing Maw of Panna Institute will moderate the discussion.

The webinar will be hosted via Zoom. To join, please register here: https://bit.ly/33ZPeS8. It will also be streamed live on ANFREL's Facebook Page: https://web.facebook.com/ANFREL.

ANFREL has previously hosted discussion on the importance of inclusiveness in elections; candidate registration, voter list display & voter education; COVID-19 and the Myanmar polls; and elections observation during the COVID-19 pandemic in Myanmar.

ANFREL has also invited the New Myanmar Foundation, Phan Tee Eain – Creative Home, and Kyun Ta Htaung Myae Foundation to share the findings of their election observation missions.

This program would not have been possible without the generous support from the Canadian Embassy in Yangon and the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs.

*NOTE: This webinar will be in Burmese language but simultaneous English translation will also be available. Sign language interpretation will also be available.
