ANFREL participates in election observation principles implementation meeting, GNDEM strategic planning

ANFREL executive director Brizza Rosales participated in the ninth implementation meeting of the Declaration of Global Principles for Nonpartisan Election Observation and Monitoring by Citizen Organizations.

The Declaration of Global Principles "provides an important set of standards for self-awareness and accountability among nonpartisan election monitoring organizations."

It was "developed through a consensus process by representatives of the existing and developing regional networks of nonpartisan election monitoring organizations from Africa, Asia, Central and Eastern Europe and Eurasia, Latin American America and the Caribbean and the Middle East and North Africa that are members of GNDEM."

Rosales was in Nairobi, Kenya from 24-26 June 2024 for the implementation meeting. She also participated in the strategic planning meeting for the Global Network of Domestic Election Monitors (GNDEM).

GNDEM is a membership organization working to "facilitate and enhance the critical work of citizen election monitors throughout the world." It has 251 member organizations in 89 countries and territories.
