Sri Lanka had its local government elections on 6 May 2025 while the Philippines had its national and local elections on 12 May 2025. ANFREL members conducted various programs and activities to ensure electoral integrity in their respective countries.

2025 Philippine Elections

In a stakeholder exchange during the press briefing for the release of the interim report of the ANFREL IEOM to the 2025 Philippine Elections, ANFREL members NAMFREL, PPCRV and LENTE noted the collaborative nature of their work with the election management body in the Philippines.

This has enabled an environment where civil society organizations are part of the solution to the issues and challenges in ensuring electoral integrity. They remain committed to pushing for the necessary electoral reforms in the country.

2025 Sri Lankan Local Government Elections

PAFFREL said the elections were conducted in a peaceful and orderly environment. The Election Commission of Sri Lanka was cited as collaborative and ensured that the electoral process was transparent, inclusive, and in full compliance with democratic principles.
