The Asian Network for Free Elections (ANFREL) met with the officials of the Election Commission, Nepal on 2 September 2023 to discuss preparations for the sixth Asian Electoral Stakeholder Forum (AESF-VI).

Last year, ANFREL and ECN signed a memorandum of understanding to co-host AESF-VI in Kathmandu, Nepal in 2023. AESF-VI is also being organized in partnership with ANFREL member in Nepal, the National Election Observation Committee and the General Election Observation Committee (GEOC). AESF is a continuing engagement between election management bodies, civil society organisations and other election stakeholders from across Asia and beyond. To date, there have been five iterations of the AESF, held in Bangkok, Thailand (2012), Dili, Timor-Leste (2015), Bali, Indonesia (2016), Colombo, Sri Lanka (2018) and online (2021).
