The Asian Network for Free Elections (ANFREL) organized a training of trainers workshop for national election monitoring groups in Thailand on 25-26 March 2023.

Ahead of the upcoming general election, ANFREL gathered in Bangkok, Thailand about 40 leaders of election observer groups in Thailand to mentor them on training their members about election monitoring strategies and techniques.

The participants learned about parallel vote tabulation (PVT), campaign finance, and post-advocacy follow-ups. They also presented their plans for the upcoming election in the country.

Aiman Rasheed from International Republican Institute (IRI) and Ngeow Chow Ying and Asraf Sharafi from the Coalition for Clean and Fair Elections (BERSIH) in Malaysia shared their knowledge and experiences monitoring elections in the region. They also shared successful advocacy strategies that brought changes and steps towards improving democracy.
