The super election year of 2024 offered insights into emerging trends and challenges that could shape and affect the path of democratization not just in the region but around the world.

There are moments in the past years, perhaps in the past year alone, that offered a version of a world with bleak future. But with the new year comes renewed hope and recharged energies. As much as the issues make it more challenging for like-minded groups and individuals fighting for human rights and democracy to stay the course, the wins and gains of the past keep the torch burning bright.

We, at the Asian Network for Free Elections – ANFREL, reaffirm our commitments and will remain steadfast in our work to push for electoral democracy in Asia. Cheers!

Programs and Activities

In December 2024, ANFREL convene members in the Philippines for a coordination meeting for the seventh Asian Electoral Stakeholder Forum in Manila. The members and the ANFREL secretariat also discussed programs and activities for the upcoming elections in the Philippines.

The latest issue of the ANFREL e-Bulletin also gathered highlights of ANFREL programs and activities in 2024.
