ANFREL released its interim statement and report on the 2023 Thai General Election and 2023 Timor-Leste Parliamentary Elections while ANFREL member organizations selected a new set of officers and members to the ANFREL Executive Council during the second quarter of 2023.

ANFREL conducted international election observation missions to the recently concluded elections in Thailand and Timor-Leste. ANFREL, in its interim report said the Election Day in Thailand was peaceful and orderly while elections in Timor-Leste were found to be peaceful, genuine and transparent.

ANFREL also released it's pre-election assessment mission report on the 2023 Cambodian General Election where ANFREL stressed that the election would continue to fall short of being free and fair because of significant flaws in all aspects.

ANFREL also selected a new set of Executive Council officers and members during the General Assembly held in Bangkok, Thailand on 18 May 2023. Rohana N. Hettiarachchie (PAFFREL, Sri Lanka) is the new chairperson.

A new set of ANFREL interns from Taiwan and Myanmar were also welcomed.
