ANFREL conducts follow-up meeting with election observation organizations, inclusion-rights groups in Bangladesh

The Asian Network for Free Elections (ANFREL) continued its coordination engagements with traditional election observation organizations and inclusion-rights groups in Bangladesh through a follow-up meeting held on 06 November 2025 in Dhaka.

This round of discussions further strengthened communication, preparedness, and complementarity among citizen observer networks and organizations advocating for inclusion in the electoral process.

Participants shared updates on their planned activities, accreditation progress, funding status, and ongoing preparations ahead of the upcoming elections. They also explored opportunities for joint efforts, reviewed key electoral developments including recent amendments to the Representation of People Order, accessibility of polling stations for persons with disabilities and the lack of representation of women in the political and electoral sphere in Bangladesh, and exchanged insights on how to enhance coordination moving forward.

This engagement marked another meaningful step toward shaping a unified, robust, and inclusive election observation ecosystem in Bangladesh.
