
2021 Gwangju Democracy Forum: ANFREL to host session on ‘Democracy under Restrictive Environment’

The Asian Network for Free Elections (ANFREL) is hosting the session “Democracy under Restrictive Environment” in the 2021 Gwangju Democracy Forum (GDF) on 19 May 2021, 10 a.m. (Korean Standard Time).
The session will discuss the state of democracy, challenges and threats in the Asian countries that saw democratic regression, including Hong Kong, Cambodia, Thailand and Myanmar.
ANFREL invited as panelists Aileen Calverley of Hong Kong Watch, Koul Panha of Committee for Free and Fair ELections in Cambodia (COMFREL), Mya Nandar Thin from Myanmar, and Yingcheep Atchanont of Internet Law Reform Dialogue (iLaw).
