ANFREL joined NDI and UNEAD for the official public launch of the Declaration of Global Principles for Nonpartisan Election Observation and Monitoring by Citizen Organizations (GNDEM)

GENDEM was launched on 3rd – 5th April 2012
ANFREL was part of the drafting committee as invited by NDI and UNEAD since 2010. Those organizations who participated at the UN building were OAS, UNEAD, OSCE/ODIHR, Carter Centre, LADE, EAD, SuGDE, APEM, MOE, Obscianske OKO, ISFED, TMG, COMFREL, NDI, WAEON.
As many as 30 participants from five continents converged in New York to discuss practical ways to entrench the declaration into citizen observation practices. The GNDEM will be useful for training for all observers. All participants agreed to promote the declaration among other like-minded civil society organization and encourage adherence to the declaration’s principle and code of conduct amongst signatories.
